Joseph Michael Manganiello is an American actor. His professional film career began when he played Flash Thompson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man. His breakout role was werewolf Alcide Herveaux in all five seasons of HBO's True Blood series. Manganiello is also known for his roles in films such as Magic Mike, Magic Mike XXL, Pee-swing's Big Holiday, What to Expect When You Expect and Sabotage, among others. At the end of 2013, he became a published author when his first book, Evolution, was published by Simon & Schuster's Gallery Books. His debut as a director took place in 2014 with the documentary La Bare, a film he produced and sponsored. Manganiello is also known for his role as Brad in How I Met Your Mother. In 2017, he won the Mid-Atlantic Emmy as the narrator for the Pittsburgh Is Home: The Story of the Penguins documentary, which captures the history of the first 50 years of the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team.

Best known for his role as a werewolf in HBO's True Blood, he's had recurring television roles on EROne Tree Hill, and How I Met Your Mother.
