Martin Hayter Short is a Canadian actor, comedian, singer and writer. He is known for his work on the television shows SCTV and Saturday Night Live. He has appeared in comedies such as Three Amigos, Innerspace, Three Fugitive, Father of the Bride, Pure Luck, Captain Ron, Father of the Bride Part II, Mars Attacks !, Jungle 2 Jungle and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Proposition . Short created the characters Jiminy Glick and Ed Grimley. Short has also appeared in the films Prince of Egypt, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, Frankenweenie and PBS series The Cat in the Hat Knows a lot about That! as title character. He also had an active stage career, with Broadway plays The Goodbye Girl and Little Me. The second person won him the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical and the first was nominated in the same category.
Starred in the 1996 film Jungle to Jungle in the 1986 film Three Amigos as a Saturday Night Live comic. He appeared in the films Mars Attacks! in 1996 and Clifford in 1994. In 2012, he also lent his voice for Madagascar 3.
